Textbook Kickoff Event

  • Tattered Cover 2526 East Colfax Avenue Denver, CO, 80206 United States (map)

Hey there friends and family!

It is with a lot of excitement and a little trepidation that we are releasing our first textbook on best practices in community development!

Listen. Think. Act. is co-authored by my dear friend and colleague Agnes Igoye who makes the world a better place every day for women around the globe. I met Agnes over a decade ago as she was leading efforts in East Africa to combat human trafficking and she continues to grow as a formidable leader on this planet. She has taught me so much and I continue to learn from and look up to this incredible woman and dear friend.

And my colleague and travel companion Tom Karrel who is building out GLI's global classrooms and has created a platform for us to activate and connect with young people around the globe both virtually and in person. Tom truly understands the art of community development and how to teach this craft to young leaders!

But most importantly, this book was written by the over 3,000 people from Colorado and around the globe who have participated in our programs and traveled to East Africa as we take a different approach to engaging communities and impacting change.

Special thanks to my colleague and friend Helen Thorpe who both edited this book and provided the forward. Our travels have taken us to the most unexpected places on the planet! You inspire me Helen!

And so our book will be released this month with a kick off at the Tattered Cover in Denver (2526 E. Colfax) on November 15th at 5:00 pm! You can order a copy of the book or share with your networks with the attached announcement or by going to www.globallivingston.org/textbook

Thank you all for listening, thinking, and acting with us over the years!

Much love! jamie
