Livelihood approaches have been the mainstay of FCS community reintegration programs (Beard, 2014). These interventions take into account “social ecology” and equip the FCS with subsistence resources and skills beyond psychosocial intervention.

In the fall semester of 2017-2018 academic year, two student consultants from Cornell Institute for Public Affairs - Enknhzul Altangerel and Carolina Araya Chaves - worked on viability study of bakery business in Lira, Uganda, as part of an ongoing research project on reintegration of Former Child Soldiers (FCS) in Uganda.
