Youth Summit

GLI’s Annual Youth Summit brings together young people from across the US and East Africa to cultivate leadership skills through critical dialogues, guest speakers, and facilitated group exercises.

In the true spirit of GLI’s mission to listen, think, and then act, after the program, each student is asked to identify an issue in their home community for which these leadership skills can be used to take action and impact lasting change.

The Youth Summit brings high school students from the United States and secondary school students from East Africa together for a three-day conference designed to increase participants’:

❖  Confidence in their leadership abilities

❖ Awareness of influential development leaders

❖ Ability to communicate effectively across cultures

❖ Openness to diverse worldviews and perspectives

GLI hosts the weekend-long Youth Summit at the Entusi Resort & Retreat Center in southern Uganda, in partnership with organizations like College Track, Reach a Hand Uganda, Perspectives Charter Schools, Gashora Girls Academy, Galapagos Charter School, and more!

Since its inception, the Youth Summit has engaged over 250 students from Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and the United States!

If you or someone you know are interested in getting involved in the next Youth Summit, send us an e-mail at info@globallivingston.org.
